Matthew obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 2022 from Victoria University of Wellington under the supervision of Prof. Martyn Coles and Dr. Mathew Anker. Following a three-year long Postdoctoral appointment with Prof. Cameron Jones at Monash University, Matthew moved to TBA in Australia to kickstart his independent academic career marking the start of the Evans research group. To date, Matthew has published over 40 research papers in peer-reviewed chemistry journals and has presented his research at a variety of conferences across the globe. Matthew is interested in science communication where he has played an active role in using Blender to create animations and art work to simplify research findings.
