Science communication is an essential skill within academia. So why not have some fun with it?
Matt has been creating animations as a fun way to share research outputs. He plans to do this more frequently by (1) building a library of 3D assets to use in animations, (2) gaining further expertise in Blender (physics simulations, texturing and UV remapping, and more), and (3) offering his services to the wider chemistry/scientific community.
As Matt looks to establish his independent research group, he will encourage all members to develop their skills in the development of media relevant to their research. This will equip the next-generation with transferrable skills beyond academia.
Below are some screenshots of an upcoming project that Matt is working on! This project will likely take a couple of days to render using a Razer Blade 14″ laptop (2017) equipped with an Intel 7700HQ PCU and GTX1060 GPU.
